Below are the current standings for women's DI clubs across the nation, with all teams having played at least one game.

Seattle leads Competitive Region 1, returning to Washington tonight after a double-header in northern California. It was a good weekend for the Breakers, who came away with two wins, but Seattle only outscored Nor Cal Triple and San Francisco Fog by a combined 38-31 score.

The big story in CR2 was the Minnesota Valkyries. All were intrigued to see how the former Women's Premier League team would measure up to the DI competition. But it appears the Valkyries are still rebuilding and struggling with numbers, and they dropped their opener to Denver Black Ice 29-14 on the road. The win was the first for Black Ice, which had dropped a 41-27 match to the Austin Valkyries the week prior.

Originally, Austin was to play St. Louis this Saturday, but the Sabres were removed from the DI competition after forfeiting matches the previous two seasons. Their omission whittles the national competition down to 20 teams. One fewer game could play into the CR2 teams' hands, getting that extra bye week to rest - and save money - for potentially to flights to Georgia and Florida come playoffs.

It's something that Chicago North Shore can appreciate, as we expect the reigning DI champs to make another run for the title. They started their DI season with a solid 34-5 victory over Detroit, which had defeated Chicago 27-7 the weekend prior.

The big story in CR3 is Boston. They started out the season with a 33-19 win over Providence, then dropped a close 36-26 match to NOVA. While Boston and NOVA traded scores all match, NOVA took advantage of a second-half surge in continuity to tack on an extra two tries back-to-back. Atlanta got on the board with a 31-0 shutout over Albany on the road, and Providence rebounded with a solid 29-0 win over the Village Lions.
