Women Eagles Get Out of Blocks Poorly
Sevens - USA Sevens Women

Ian Muir photo. The Women Eagles opened London 7s with a 12-7 loss to France Saturday.

Jillion Potter put USA on the board first with a converted try following big carries from Vanesha McGee and Natalie Marchino, but France leveled the table before halftime making it 7-7 at intermission. The French recorded the lone score in the second half for the win.

The Eagles try to bounce back against China at 8:15am ET Saturday. The Eagles need to finish just in the top eight of 12 in pool play to advance to the Cup Quarterfinals, but up after China is Australia, so the next one is a must-win for the USA.
