NZ 7s: Wales 10 USA 0
Sevens - USA Sevens Men

The USA looked very shaky with the ball in hand in a damp Saturday morning at the New Zealand 7s in Wellington.

The handling was tough because of the damp conditions, but the Eagles did their very best to let it get to them. They made poor passes, they dropped good passes. They tried risky passes and didn't hook up with support when support was there.

As a result, the game came down to who would make the fewest mistakes, and that was Wales. They scored twice in the second half. The USA defended doggedly, but kept giving up the ball.

Miles Craigwell and Maka Unufe showed well. Colin Hawley had some moments. No other player could say he played at all well, and the Eagles are now in the Shield semifinals, against Scotland. That game is set for 4:10pm local time Saturday. That is 7:10pm PT, 10:10pm ET Friday night in the USA.
