George, South Africa - When Mile Pulu opened up the scoring 17 seconds into the USA's game against Fiji at the George 7s, it looked as if the Eagles were going to give the 7s all stars a run for their money. But Pulu's try would mark the last time the scoreboard would flash in the Americans' favor, as Fiji then ran in 43 unanswered points.

Seremaia Burotu logged three tries, while Miteli Nacagilevu, Nasoni Roko, Josaia Lotawa and Saimoni Nuku added five-pointers. Emosi Vucago added four conversions for the runaway win.

The game was a departure from the 24-22 loss the Americans experienced in the first pool game against Samoa. Now 0-2, the USA is relegated to Bowl competition for tomorrow's playoffs, but must first play Namibia in its final pool match. Namibia lost to Fiji by a similar margin (47-7).
