AIG, an American company and the All Blacks' new sponsor, reportedly helped sway the Maori All Blacks toward inking the fixture. AIG apparently wants to use its sponsorship to expand its brand at home as well as abroad. In the report, New Zealand Rugby Union general manager of strategic relationships Nigel Cass says, "America is a key focus for us. We have a number of teams that carry the All Black brand and we would like for them to be playing in North America." |
