Clever in Vegas as Fan, to Celebrate 10 Years
Tournaments - USA Sevens Tournament

Todd Clever FlyerUSA 15s captain Todd Clever, who played in the USA 7s for the Eagles from 2005-2008, will be back at the tournament this year, but as a fan.

Clever said this is the first time he has been at the USA 78s as a fan, and said “for the first time in my rugby career, I get to enjoy the USA 7s from the outside looking in, and will be in Vegas this weekend taking in the electric atmosphere that I have heard so much about.”

Clever says he does miss playing 7s for the USA, but will be supporting the team with all enthusiasm in the stadium.

He will also likely be seen at some of the parties during the weekend. RUGBYMag asked Clever if he will emulate his brother Chris, also an accomplished player with OMBAC, and wander around in a bathrobe.

“Not sure about that but I do plan on getting in the spirit of the 7s,” he said.

This year also marks a decade for Clever as an Eagle, as he made his debut for the USA at the Pan-Am 15s tournament in Argentina.

To celebrate, he is hosting a huge party this Saturday at Diablos Cantina at the Monte Carlo. The party is open to everyone and will feature a DJ and drink specials. Several current and former national team players are expected to be there.
