| Tournaments - USA 7s CRC |

For Dartmouth in their trip to winning the USA 7s CRC, their goalkicker, Derek Fish, showcased that skills all weekend.
“What he did was fantastic,” said tournament MVP Madison Hughes. “We say that if you score early and you don’t convert it, it really doesn’t count. They can score and convert and take the lead.” Fish said exactly the same thing. “I saw last year we struggled with our conversions, and it turned out OK, but it’s an important part of the game,” Fish told RUGBYMag.com. “Madison and I worked on it all the time after practice, and we kicked a ton.” Fish missed last year’s CRC due to injury. “It was tough to watch,” he said. “I was pumped for them, but I couldn’t be out there for them, so I was glad to get the chance this year.” Fish’s excellent goalkicking kept the pressure on teams, and certainly made the difference in the semis, where they needed all three kicks to beat Cal 21-19. |

Fish set a CRC record by scoring 60 points, and his 27 conversions in two tournaments is also a CRC record.
