After taking a two-year hiatus from international competition, Mike Palefau, who will play with the 7s Eagles in Australia this weekend, made himself available for the last two stops of the 2010/2011 IRB 7s World Series in England and Scotland. He then made himself available for the 15s team for the first time during Eddie O’Sullivan’s tenure as coach.

Eagle hooker Chris Biller has agreed a three-month contract with Bath. He’ll join the team Thursday morning after an overnight flight.

He’s not a big guy. Former San Diego State All American Duncan Kelm weighs in the neighborhood of 210 pounds, but that’s pretty small for a front row specialist, even in 7s. However, it’s as a forward Kelm will likely earn his first cap for the United States.

When Eddie O’Sullivan joined the USA Men's 15s team in 2009 and signed on through 2011, he did so with two extra jobs – to repair the feeling of having the rug pulled out from under the players when Scott Johnson abruptly left for another job, and to groom his successor – to go along with the simple job of picking and training a national team.

Another Women's Premier League season has come to an end, and spectators were treated to a great physical battle during the Berkeley v Twin Cities showdown (read more). The 17-8 win marked the first WPL title for the All Blues, and the first trip to the final for the Amazons. In the end, Berkeley was able to capitalize on Twin Cities' errors, though few and far between, for two tries, and Ruth Bryson slot a late dropgoal to put the game out of reach with 10 minutes remaining.
