Chula Vista, CA - The Northeast ended on a high note after losing two close games during the Women's National All Star 7s Championship.

The Nessies started the day without a tough loss to the USA Developmental team, dropping a 12-10 contest that was decided by a Kimber Rozier conversion. Then the NRU followed with a 12-5 defeat at the hands of the West, which has been a welcome surprise thus far and went 2-0 into the final pool round.
But the Northeast find its fluidity on attack against the South, which went 0-3 today, with a 29-0 win. Katie Dowty was electric over 14 minutes, scoring five tries and shooting to the top of the points leaderboard. Dowty is coming off a very impressive Nations Cup performance, where the wing scored numerous tries off the bench. Jess Peterson also added a five-pointer.
The Northeast sits in third position in pool B behind USA Developmental and the West. The Northeast will attempt to keep the winning streak going against defending champion Mid-Atlantic, which finished 2-1 after losing its final match to the Pacific Coast 12-5.
