Salve Regina Winners in New England

In a highly contested match Salve Regina rugby came away victorious to solidify a third New England small college championship in four years.

In the final Tufts took a 19-5 lead into the halftime break, but Salve never quit. With two minutes left in the game Salve Regina was awarded a scrum. Winning the scrum allowed Salve to spin the ball to their backs and they were rewarded with a try by senior Anthony Pesce. That put Salve Regina up 22-19, and won the game.

Prop Stephen McEnery was awarded Man of the Match for his overall solid play. Salve will advance to play next weekend in the NSCRO elite 8 game at Springfield College.
