The fans helped vote for their all-tournament team at the Women's 7s National Championships, picking 12 players worthy of note.

RUGBYMag.com chose 15, with nine players appearing in both lists. We made a choice regarding the two best James Madison players, opting for the creator (Laura Dominick) over the finisher (Stephanie Goetz), and we added Cal's Lizette Del Real, and a power runner, Crystal Nye of Northern Iowa, to name a couple.

What is sorely lacking in both lists is more than one player of height, power, and speed. Both winners Norwich and runners up Navy were fairly short teams. Teamwork and speed won the national title, and sometimes a team did well with shorter power runners, but we didn't see any budding Jillion Potters out there.

If we were putting together a collegiate 7s team to develop, we'd probably move Dominick to the forwards for just that reason. One player of note we didn't pick was Texas Tech forward Megan Londholm. Tech was very good, and Lindholm was not considered a starter for the team and usually came on late. However, she's very tall and mobile. She is the sort of athlete who needs to be nurtured and developed. Fitness and skills can be taught. Height cannot.
