The final three automatic bids to the USA Rugby College 7s National Championships were won this weekend, with Dartmouth winning the Ivy Championship and Wisconsin the Big Ten title on Saturday and San Diego State winning California 7s Sunday.

So the teams who have won automatic bids are: Davenport, Lindenwood, Life, Northeastern, Texas A&M, Texas, Central Washington, Virginia Tech, Cal, San Diego State, Dartmouth and Wisconsin. Virginia Tech is the only team to turn down its bid.

The College Competitions Committee is expected to reward the 13 at-large bids Sunday night or some time Monday. Unlike last year, teams wishing to be considered for an at-large bid must have turned in an application for one by Sunday, so as to avoid teams turning down at-large invitations.  

Below is a table containing results from all of this season's DI college 7s tournaments RUGBYMag is aware of. Though we don't know which teams submitted applications to be considered for an at-large bid, we have a list of teams we think will be strongly considered.

It's not entirely clear whether the Competitions Committee will value quality of finish in one or two tournaments or participation in several tournaments more. But, we have made our guesses. RUGBYMag does not expect some teams which have played 7s this fall to have submitted applications, which is why they are not on our list.
