The Chicago Lions can clinch a spot at the USA National Championships with a tournament victory Saturday at the Rock n Roll 7s in Cleveland, Ohio.

If they win, they will have 44 points, with Youngbloodz, should they finish 2nd, at 38 points. That would put 1823 at no more than 26 points, meaning the Lions could show up at Grand Rapids and earn zero points, and still be in the top two.

If Chicago wins in Cleveland and 1823 comes second, 1823 would have 28 points and Youngbloodz no more than 30, meaning neither could catch Chicago for 1st place.

Meanwhile 1823 could be eliminated if Youngbloodz win the tournament and the Columbus team finished 6th or worse.

All the top seven teams are still in it, but need to do well and the top teams not to do well to stay there.
