Pittsburgh, Pa. - The West RFU women's all-star team put away the South 46-8 Friday in the first Tier 2 semifinal of the National All-Star Championships.

The South started well and scored a penalty early through Jessica Wooden. The Mustangs replied with a try, but after South lock forward Trystan Likes went over at 27 minutes, the South led 8-5.

The game remained a close one through the rest of the first half. The South scored twice. No. 8 Taryn Brennan touched down and then lock Francine Bray did the same just before halftime. Flyhalf Hannah Stolba converted the last one, giving the West a 17-8 halftime lead.

The South was still in it, but not ten minutes later. The West scored twice in that span, and then ran away with it. Backs Sara Edwards and Tyra McGrady claimed tries, and later on flanker Katie Janus, sub prop Andrea Prusinski, and finally Stolba all touched down.

The West now faces the winner of Pacific v. Eastern Development for the Tier 2 final.
