With 11 conferences and 104 teams in season, DII has had plenty of action in the past two weeks. Several teams are rising to the top of their league tables and creating separation, and other leagues are bottlenecking in the middle.

And, still, we are learning of some new conferences and that some teams we thought were DII are not. Sierra College and Santa Rosa have moved to DI-AA, so they’re out of the DII Top 25 now. So are VMI, Central Missouri, Northern Iowa and Boston University, who have all stumbled out of the blocks.

So five new teams enter the rankings this week: Holy Cross, IUP, Niagara, North Dakota State, Vasser and Minnesota-Duluth. All are undefeated except Duluth, whose only loss came by six to North Dakota State. IUP is the first Great Lakes team to be ranked and Vasser is the first Tri States team.

With so many teams exiting the Top 25, some idle teams actually move up.
