Lindenwood capped off their season undefeated against all collegiate competition, earning the No. 1 billing, and we re-ranked between the quarterfinals and semifinals, leaving no reason to mess with Nos. 5-25.

However, the question remained, who should be No. 2? Both Salisbury and UW-Whitewater were dealt their only losses to DII opponents by Lindenwood. Whitewater lost a pre-playoff match with Wisconsin.

The comparative scores against the Lions, which is the only objective material we have to rank with, favor Whitewater. The Warhawks fell in a competitive 27-15 game in the quarterfinals, and Salisbury was throttled 57-10 in the final.

Using subjective material, like talking to the players and coaches, favored Whitewater, too, as some Lions were still talking in Utah about the lessons they’d learned from the Warhawks.
