Latest DI-AA Rankings. 

Five teams dropped from DI-A to DI-AA over the offseason. (If Cal is made eligible, the Bears would be the sixth). In our preseason Top 25, we had all five in our top 10 and four in our top six. Because of early preseason losses, that changed, with LSU and Tennessee dropping considerably and/or all the way out. However, with a full fall and several weeks of 2012 play in the books, four of the former DI-A teams are back in the top six.

LSU re-enters the top six this week after beating Auburn 50-0. No, that win doesn't come as a surprise, but the Tigers are stringing together some big wins. And, frankly, we believe they and the Southeastern Collegiate Rugby Conference are better than Northeastern and the East Coast Rugby Conference. Florida and Sacramento State also move past Northeastern after wins over Kentucky and Stanford, respectively.

Clemson is the only previously unranked team to join the Top 25 this week. After beating Bowling Green Feb. 19 and eviscerating Georgia Tech, 100-0, Saturday, the Tigers could no longer be ignored. To make room for Clemson, Arkansas was bumped. The Razorbacks haven't played much since the fall, but they get back into league play Saturday with a huge home match against Missouri. The winner will nudge to the front of the Heart of America  and likely into the rankings.

St. Bonaventure and Maryland swap spots after they, and Temple, competed in a three-team festival with Temple in College Park, Md. last weekend. The Bonnies emerged 2-0, and Maryland and Temple finished 0-1-1. The matches were shortened, so it's not fair to put too much weight on them. But Maryland was playing at home, and we can't ignore the results altogether.

Some voices in RUGBYMag.com World Headquarters have been pushing for Oregon State, who beat UBC's seconds earlier this season and just beat Western Washington, to move up, and perhaps for some bunching with the NorCal teams, seeing as they all seem to be winning or losing by razor-thin margins; but we will wait on that. If Santa Clara beats Sac State next week, then maybe. If OSU wins big against Idaho and Sac State or Chico State win big, maybe they get a bump.
