Men's DI-AA College Top 25, Feb. 7, 2012
Rankings - Men DI College

(These rankings originally ran Feb. 7 on the premier side.)

It’s that time of year, when teams who were dormant much of the fall ascend with big winter wins. South Carolina, Oregon State and Florida State are good examples.

South Carolina is still undefeated in college play, and a 100-point win is always impressive, so the Gamecocks hop over idle Miami (OH) and Wisconsin after drubbing Kentucky.

Oregon State has started NCRC play very well, sweeping Canadian teams Univ. British Columbia and Simon Fraser. Though the UBC win wasn’t UBC’s top side, it’s still impressive.

Florida State played in the fall, but not particularly well throughout. Now, when the games count, the Seminoles are winning. The latest victory, over UCF, avenged a fall loss.

No. 4 UCSB and fifth-ranked San Diego State clashed Saturday, with the Gauchos earning the high ranking as 21-14 winners. But, the win isn’t enough to catapult UCSB over Dartmouth or Davenport, and the loss wasn’t enough to drop the Aztecs.
