East Stroudsburg completed its perfect season Saturday, defeating The College of New Jersey 27-7 to win the Eastern Penn.

TCNJ opened the game with a try, mauling in an early lineout. Getting down early hasn't been something ESU has had to deal with a lot this fall, but the response to the setback was positive.

"Usually when that happens we implode, we start yelling at each other an getting down on ourselves," said ESU president Charles Batikha. "But this time everybody kept their cool and stayed collected."

East Stroudsburg wouldn't allow another TCNJ score the rest of the game, and would use a big second-half onslaught to clinch the EPRU's top seed to the spring Mid-Atlantic playoffs, from which the top two teams will advance to Nationals.

Batikha said ESU's superior fitness played a huge role in the team's big second half.

"Our coach has always said, if we're not going to be the best team in the EPRU, we're going to be the most fit team in the EPRU, and that paid off in the second half. They just couldn't keep up with us."

The DIII final also took place Saturday, with Rowan Univ. downing Ursinus College 33-14 to win the title and advance to the NSCRO round of 16.
