Florida’s DII league got a bit of a shakeup last week as the Tampa Bay Krewe lost a match to Daytona they would have expected to win.
“Rough result for us,” said Krewe president Jeffrey Herron. “Daytona really starved us of the possession we needed to get things going. They were very scrappy at the breakdown and were able to slow down our ball or steal it away. We are going to have to get simple and revisit the fundamentals, rucking, support, and smart ballcarrying, and continuity.”
The Krewe have a week to think about their sins as they have a bye this weekend.
Meanwhile the Fort Lauderdale Knights (3-4) will host the Boca Raton Buccaneers (6-2) at Mills Pond Park. With the Krewe having dropped to 5-1-1, the Buccaneers moved ahead and can widen the gap with another victory.
Also with Tampa in their sights are the Naples Hammerheads. At 6-1, Naples visits the 4-3 Miami Tridents and can move ahead of the Krewe with a victory.
Fresh off their upset of Tampa, Daytona (2-4) visits Jacksonville (1-3), while 4-2-1 Orlando plays at the St. Petersburg Pelicans RFC (1-2-0).
The top end of the league is now in a bit of a confusion because all of the leading teams have lost at least once. There is everything to play for for at least four teams, and if the Tridents upend Naples, Miami could throw themselves into the mix, as well.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser.
The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
