Dartmouth Dominates Rivals Brown
Colleges - Men's DI College

Dartmouth made a huge statement Saturday in Men’s Ivy League play, defeating their annual challengers, Brown 50-0.

Still dominating the scoresheet whether at fullback, center, or somewhere else, Madison Hughes likes the overall talent of his Dartmouth team.Dartmouth really worked the ball movement in the backs and scored early through Madison Hughes, playing at outside center. Inside center Colin Walmsley scored twice on interceptions in the first half, and Pat Flynn (also a try-scorer) and Kevin Clark were active as Dartmouth took a 35-0 lead into the break.

With the subs on Dartmouth kept up the pressure, and saw Rex Littlefield, Dawit Worki, and Tyler Moragne score. Worki’s give-and-go with Hughes might have been the pick of them.

The wealth was spread throughout the team, but Hughes once again led the scoring with two tries and five conversions for 20 points.

The All American has been busy throughout 2013, playing in the national playoffs, the CRC, then with the 15s All Americans, and after that the 7s All Americans.

“I've been playing a lot, but have had a few months here and there where I've been able to rest in between seasons,” Hughes told RUGBYMag.com. “I've been fortunate to be selected for some fantastic opportunities and have been trying to seize as many of these as possible.”

Hughes did skip the Granite Cup, but is now not only central to the Dartmouth attack, as a junior he is taking more of a leadership role.

“I'm excited about our team. I think we have a really good mix of youth and experience. We're concentrating on improving game-by-game,” Hughes said.
