Lombard Joins WWU Staff
Colleges - Men's DI College

Former USA player Jeff Lombard has joined the growing Western Washington University rugby staff as program manager.

Lombard’s appointment follows on the heels of the appointment of Paul Horne as Director of Rugby and Head Coach.

“We have added a very well respected man in the rugby community,” said Head 7s Coach Adam Roberts. “Jeff, has a wealth of experience and will no doubt have a huge impact on the direction of the program.”

Lombard grew up in Eastern Washington and moved to Western to pursue his education. He earned his degree at Western in Recreation Management. While there he switched from football to rugby, and later was capped three times for the Eagloes at openside flanker.

Upon retiring from his playing days with the Eagles, Jeff assumed the role of Team Manager for the National Team where he remained for many years. He has been active with the Classic Eagles, and also runs International Athletic, a rugby supply company based in the Northwest.

“He has an uncompromising work ethic,” said Head 7’s Coach Adam Roberts. “We are fortunate to have such a world class man as part of the Western Washington family”

Paul Horne adds, “Having Jeff Lombard as part of our team takes us to another level. His experience and management skills will ensure the program is in good hands.”
