Santa Monica and Belmont Shore remain in a tight race atop the Southern California DI league after Santa Monica won convincingly 40-10 over a tough Los Angeles team Saturday, and Belmont Shore escaped with a 27-25 victory over OMBAC.
OMBAC had a shot to tie the game with the final conversion of the day. But Zach Pangelinan's kick hit both uprights before bouncing back onto the field. No good, and just a close loss for OMBAC.
That close loss might be enough to ensure OMBAC a playoff position. They do slip to 4th as San Diego Old Aztecs won over Back Bay and improve to 4-3, and 3rd place.
Unofficial standings.
