Over the last few years, it's becoming more evident that the gains made by the USA National teams are not reflected in the way the grassroots game is being coached. In most countries, coach- and player-education programs ensure a modified version of what is happening at the top of the game filters downward. The national team coaches in these countries are in close conversation with the senior academies, stressing to them the lessons learned on tour and recommendations to needed areas of improvement.

Members of the proposed West Coast Cup, alternately renamed the American Rugby Premiership or the Pacific Rugby Premiership will be meeting in the Denver area this coming weekend to hash out details of their new competition, but it could be that they will be hashing out details of an old one.
