Mexico Tests Mettle in SoCal
International - Olympics

The Mexico 7s team took a trip to Southern California this past weekend to get in some game training ahead of this month’s Pan-Am Games.

They took on Belmont Shore in three matches, winning two, a much improved performance by Los Serpientas.

Under Coach Simon Pierre they showed better organization on defense and more structure, but still lacked that need go-forward force on offense. Belmont Shore ran out a fairly young team headlined by Ed Pitts+.

But the trip was an indication of how hard Mexico is working toward making a strong showing at the Pan –Am Games in Guadalajara.

The Mexico squad for the Pan-Am games is:
Juan Pablo Andrade, Jaguares Rugby Club
Jorge Bermudez ©, Wallabies RFC
Miguel Carner, Black Thunder
Alejandro Chavez, Tazmania Rugby Club
Christian Henning, Black  Thunder
Luis Fernando Herrejon, Black Thunder
Carlos Jimenez, Tazmania Rugby Club
Santiago Loboreiro, Lobos Universidad Iberoamericanos
Pascal Nadaud, Black Thunder
Oscar O’Farrill, Lobos Universidad Iberoamericanos
Rodrigo Ramos, Black Thunder
Mauricio Rios, Wallabies RFC

Coach: Simon Pierre
Doctor: Alejandro Plancarte
Manager: Francisco Echeguren
