Big Margins in New England Openers
Clubs - Men's DI Clubs

The New England DI men’s club season kicked off the 2012-2013 season with three of last year’s top four teams winning.

The top four team that didn’t end the day victorious was South Shore. The Anchors were sunk by Mystic River 47-0.

The Boston Rugby Club won easily over New Haven 67-0, and that wasn’t even the biggest margin of victory for the day.

Middlesex, new to DI after a successful DII season, thumped Hartford 102-19.

“We were fast and fit,” said Middlesex Head Coach Josh Smith. “They were fast and not fit.”

That about sums it up.

The closest game of the day, then was still a big win, with the Boston Irish Wolfhounds 35-10 over Amoskeag.

“It was a hard-fought game but we were always in control,” said BIW Head Coach Fergal Hehir.
