Texas Leaves Allied Rugby Conference
Colleges - Men's DI College

The University of Texas has decided not to renew its membership in the Allied Rugby Conference for the 2013-2014 season.

“The 7’s and 15’s competition was great, but the landscape in college rugby is unique and dynamic at the moment," said newly appointed Texas head coach Chris Hopps.

"We are excited to push ourselves administratively and competitively and move forward as a program. Thank you to the ARC and its members for the 2012-2013 season."

The Longhorns competed in both the DI-A ARC and DI-AA Southwest Rugby Conference this season, entering their second side as a playoff-ineligible member of the Southwest.

The Longhorns finished second in the ARC with a 4-1 record and lost the conference championship game 45-5 to Texas A&M Saturday.
