Rankings - Boys High School

Very little movement in this week's RUGBYMag.com's Boys Single-School rankings as all of the top teams won.

St. Edwards jumps into 15th after a series of solid results, while Unionville drops out for the opposite reason.

De La Salle was not punished for a 28-8 loss to Jesuit ... that was about what we'd expect, perhaps a little better. And St. Thomas Aquinas lost to the #4 Multi-School team KC Junior Blues, which says, we think, more about how good the Junior Blues are.

Note to all teams and leagues, it's hard to rank you if you don't even record your own scores.

Waiting in the wings? Burrell from Pennsylvania, Olympus from Utah, and one or two teams from Minnesota.

Rankings - Boys High School

The top teams in RUGBYMag.com's Boys Single-School rankings stay where they are as, again, they are doing what is expected of them.

The big mover was Greenwich, which looked impressive in beating #12 Unionville. Greenwich moves up to #11.

Moving in are Union HS out of Oregon, who have beaten three of the better teams in the Oregon single-school competition, Wando, out of South Carolina, who probably should have been in there earlier, and Perry Street Pride, who are hoping to do big things in their final season.

Teams we're interested in include several from cold weather states who aren't playing, as well as Nakahi in Idaho, and Olympus in Utah.

Rankings - Boys High School

Much more action this past weekend in high school rugby.

While #1 Jesuit was idle, #2 Herriman and #3 Gonzaga were active and winning impressively. Gonzaga's results were probably more impressive, and they could be good enough to move them up. We will wait as they tour Europe.

Xavier also did the job, and it seems those four are tops in the country by a wide margin, with Penn perhaps there also.

Brownsburg moves up after a solid outing in the Ohio-Indiana challenge, and Westlake moves up after beating rivals Lake Travis.

Rankings - Boys High School

Jesuit of Sacramento remains #1 in the latest Boys High School Single-School Rankings presented by Selective Service, and not by default. The Marauders do so because they beat two fairly strong teams quite convincingly, including previous #22 Clayton Valley.

Moving up closer to them is fellow Northern California team De La Salle, which also beat Clayton Valley (in the Cal v UCLA curtain-raiser at Witter Field) as well as Christian Brothers.

Dropping somewhat is Snow Canyon after their loss to Red Mountain, but don't be surprised if they bounce right back.

Meanwhile the other big mover, in fact the biggest mover, is St. Thomas Aquinas. The Saints won the Tulsa tournament, which opens the season for teams in the Missouri-Kansas-Oklahoma region, and did so by beating a solid Union team and a strong and highly-ranked KC Jr. Blues team.

We will see if they keep it going, but it's a strong start for STA.

Rankings - Boys High School

Not all of the teams ranked in this latest Boys High School Single-School Rankings presented by Selective Service have been on the field yet. The different seasons means that some competitions - Southern California - will end before others begin.

Those on the field get a little boost, but we have to instil some judgment on the idle teams, as well. Jesuit out of Sacramento stays #1 because they are playing and winning - big. Cathedral out of Southern California are undefeated and have beaten all of the top teams on their schedule. They play View Park Prep in their league final this weekend (also ranked, but lower as a result of their less consistent results). St. Augustine from SoCal are ranked ahead of View Park as a result of having beaten View Park in January.

Also moving in or up, De La Salle, which has started well in Northern California, Greenville, which joins Chapin at 2-0 in South Carolina, and Clayton Valley, a new single-school team that sprung out of the Diablo HS club team. Clayton beat beat previously-ranked Dixon, who drops out for now.
