London Welsh prepares for a rematch with Bristol - a team they beat 54-9 last weekend - as they shoot to make the RFU Championship final in the UK.
USA prop forward Shawn Pittman scored a try in that match and continues to develop on a club that has benefitted from the young front-rower being in the lineup every week.
"It's going really well," Pittman told RUGBYMag.com. "I'm having a blast and I'm really enjoying my time in London. We have a bunch of great guys on the team and we all get along really well."
Pittman said he's handled the physical stresses of a professional season fairly well.
"I've played a lot of games this season I think I'm up to 30 or so; I've kinda lost track of all of them!" he said. "But overall there's nothing really that different for me. I feel like I've handled the wear and tear well. I'm starting to get a couple of little nagging injuries but they don't affect the way I play."
And he's been able to play tighthead every week, logging important minutes and learning from some seasoned veterans.
"I've gained some good weight," he said. "and I've gotten better at scrummaging."
