MacDonald Out for 10 Weeks
International - Americans Overseas

Leeds Carnegie have confirmed that Mike MacDonald has been ruled out of action for 10-12 weeks after breaking a bone and tearing a tendon in his hand during the game against Moseley.

The prop will undergo surgery this week on the scaphoid lunate injury and will then work with the club's medical department with the aim of making a return to the team during the Play Offs.

Speaking about MacDonald's injury Leeds Carnegie Head Coach Diccon Edwards said: "Obviously this is a big blow for both Mike and the team and this will bring challenges for us but we are confident in the ability of Gareth Denman and Sam Lockwood to step up and make a big impact in the team.

"We hope to be able to have Mike back available for the last three games of the Pool stages of the Play Offs and this will be a massive boost for us at that important time of the season."
