Pittman Leads Welsh to Victory
International - Americans Overseas

Shawn Pittman was a monster for London Welsh Saturday as he helped his club in a RFU Championship win over Rotherham 21-20.

The USA and former Chuckanut U19 prop helped spark London Welsh to a 13-point comeback by being in the middle of the action throughout the latter part of the game.

His thundering runs and high work rate forced Rotherham to scramble in defense, and they often did it illegally in order to contain the American, giving up penalties that allowed Welsh to inch closer in the score.

Pittman's only setback was a six-minute break for a blood sub in the first half. He was also in the center of the dramatic ending. Down 21-20 Rotherham was blasting up to the Welsh line. Smart London Welsh defense held firm and just before the line the ball was ripped free. Pittman was the first to the rock and pounced on it to secure possession, and the game.

There was a bit more scoring eslewhere. Mike MacDonald and Robbie Shaw helped Leeds to a 42-32 victory over Moseley.
