| Fallbrook, Summit Girls Tie in Challenge Match |

In a match many might have looked on as an unofficial national championship match, defending national champs Fallbrook hosted Summit, long considered one of the best girls teams in the country, but which plays a fall schedule, and didn't go to the national tournament as a result. “Fallbrook lived up to the hype,” Summit Head Coach Karl Barth told the Summit Daily News. The teams tied 10-10 after regulation and no extra time was played. “Both teams could have won the game, and both teams were probably lucky not to lose — great matchup,” said Barth. |
