A lot has happened in the last month of college rugby, and some upsets have shaken up the Top 25. Life hasn’t been upset. Instead, the Running Eagles have handily beaten other ranked opponents in Utah and Tennessee, so they stay atop the list. Cal has been perhaps even more impressive, piling 100-plus points on three separate opponents this spring – Stanford, Cal Poly and Arizona State. The Sun Devils and Mustangs have had great springs themselves, outside of their bouts with Cal. Cal Poly has beaten No. 23 San Diego State and previously ranked UCSB. Arizona State beat Arizona in the fall, while the Wildcats have upended Air Force and SDSU. The Golden Bears are back to their dominant ways and could well be the best in the country, so they leapfrog Arkansas State. The Red Wolves are fresh off a loss to Life’s men’s team, 49-10. Utah and BYU also lost to top men’s clubs, Glendale and OPSB, respectively. Colorado lost heavily to UCLA in Los Angeles, bumping the Buffs out of the Top 25. Taking their place are the Golden Knights of Central Florida. UCF has been on fire this entire competitive cycle, beating Florida in the fall and pummeling Florida State and South Florida in league play.
