Clear enough, SC was ranked #1 in single-school. I started writing my last post before yours was posted so now it seems weird, but yes I think that we are both clear.

If that is what you have meant (single-school) then you should have said that from the beginning. SC was undefeated and so was Highland 1. I only saw one state championship trophy handed out last year in the varsity and it went to Highland, so they are the ones with the right to call themselves state champs. I don't blame SC for skipping state to qualify for nationals, nor would I blame you if you had said that you thought that they were the best team last year. But when you say that SC was the 1st place team in the state last year (and don't say in your original post that you were talking about single school) and yet the trophy went home with Highland, you are being misleading, and that is the only thing that I am taking exception to. Maybe a bit different wording in your original post could have saved us all of this bickering.

P.S. A correction to your counter point. Snow Canyon DID NOT place 1st in the state in 2010. Snow Canyon was RANKED #1 and used that ranking to advance to the National Tournament instead of competing in the State Tournament. We will never know how things would have turned out had Snow Canyon played in the State Tournament. We will also never know who would have prevailed in a match between the Highland Varsity1 team of 2010 and the Snow Canyon team of 2010 because they never actually played one another. If any statement, previously made by me, was construed in a way that made one think that I, or anyone else associated with Snow Canyon Rugby, believed otherwise, I apologize. Congratulations to the Highland U19 team of 2011 for their National Championship victory over United as well as Jesuit for their High School Championship victory over Xavier. We are looking forward to the match between Lowland and Snow Canyon for the Utah State High School Championship. CLEAR ENOugh?!

"Yes, Snow Canyon is the best single-school team in Utah and was last year".Thats all I have been saying all along! I was making a point to the comment made in the article,"Lowland, which has been in existence for just three years, has made its second state final." I THEN said " Let's not forget about Snow Canyon in this article. Snow Canyon is also a 3rd year program. In SC's 2nd year they placed 1st in the State beating Highland and United and then went on to beat Bellermine Academy in California, advancing to the #2 seed at Nationals. " All true. SC beat the Highland team that they played, and the United team, that they played! The only reason Snow Canyon wasn't at State last year was because they were at Nationals. You are the one who made this a Highland / SC thing. Are you so prideful that you think everything in Rugby is about Highland U19? It's not. Skyline, Lone Peak and SC showed that this year. You are being disrespectful. Snow Canyon / Lowland for State. Good luck!

So instead of admitting that your previous comment may have been incorrect or misleading you are now going to qualify everything? Why are you talking about this year? I took issue with your statement about last year because it was incorrect. There were exactly 0 foreign players on the Highland Varsity 1 team last year. Yes, Snow Canyon is the best single-school team in Utah and was last year, but instead of qualifying that in your earlier comments you wanted eveyone to think that SC won the state title last year. How come no comment about single school in your earlier posts to clarify from the beginning? And where does it say that all have to be single school? Please enlighten how Highland was not "holding true to the rules of the division" because that is what is insinuated. No one is taking anything away from SC, I already said they're a great program. But making things out to be more than they are is disrespectful to the game. Just want things to be 100% accurate.

Ok..how about this? Highland beat Lowland in the State finals 60-3 last year. Snow Canyon beat Lowland 62-0. All things being equal on any given Saturday, a SC-Highland Varsity1 matchup would have been "probably" a better State Final. Also, Snow Canyon is a true single school team, holding true to the rules of the division. Highland on the other hand brings in boys form all over the Valley as well as recruits from other countries. This year Snow Canyon beat the Varsity1 Highland team TWICE (capitals intended). So no excuses on which team should be in the finals. Go SC and Go Lowland. For this year anyways, they are the 2 premier High school teams in the state.

Furthermore, saying that Snow Canyon placed first in state is simply not true. Highland and Snow Canyon were BOTH undefeated. Highland won the state tourney (understand why SC didn't play in it but you cannot say that you placed first in the state if you didn't even play the other undefeated team which won the state tourney)
