Thanks, it was a good game. Both teams played well. In response to your question the Women's Cougar Rugby team is a club team at BYU, not a "real" BYU sponsored athletic team which is why they can't use the BYU name but that also means they don't have to abide by BYU's religious policy of not playing on sunday. The girls on the team made the choice to not play sundays out of their own personal religious beliefs, not because BYU made them, and USA Rugby graciously made the change to accommodate their stance.

So should we not play on Saturdays for teams that are mostly Jewish. Hey cannot play on Fridays to make sure the muslims are not treated poorly. Complete BS in my opinion. Let's have the student athletes miss an extra day of school, just because one team, that is not recognized by their school which believes women are for making a lot of babies and cooking, does not play on Sundays.

When Men's or Women's Cougar Basketball qualifies for the post-season, is the NCAA required to put them in a bracket such that they'll never have to play on a Sunday? It can be done with the men, but the women's Final 4 games were played on a Sunday. Would WCB simply refuse to play in the NCAA tournament, or would they forfeit in the Final 4?

Ok, so USA Rugby has to accommodate BYU's religious demands to not play on Sunday, yet they won't allow their women's team to use the BYU name. Seems like gender discrimination and hypocrisy. But I'm sure there's a logical explanation that I'm missing. Can one of the BYU supporters on here provide it to me? Oh, and great showing by both teams. Sounds like it would have been a match worth watching...
