Have to disagree with Coach Gonzales...as a former Harvard Rugger, its obvious to me that the University offers Advantages not necessarily seen at all other schools. Yes, it's tough to get all of the athletes you want admitted, but the facilities are very good, and because there are a Ton of varsity sports (41), there are always recruited athletes dropping off other teams that can end up playing rugby. Recruit, recruit, recruit!!!! If you build it they will come... How does Coach G think the HRFC made Final Fours in the 80s, 90s and 2000s if these "Disadvantages" were and are so significant??

Strange how Davenport make Harvard look under privileged but yet Harvard toured "Prague and Berlin in March". Has to be nice to be able to have that amount of cash floating around

Coach Gonzales, perhaps a visit to 4-time national high school champion Xavier High School(NYC)migh t put things in better perspective for you. Our "campus" has NO practice or game fields or indeed a single square inch of open ground of any kind. We are a building on a city block in Manhattan. Our four rugby teams (130 kids; oldest high school program in the U.S.) practice at various spots around Manhattan. Our three (successful)foo tball teams (110 kids; the program was established in 1883)practice across the East River in Red Hook, Brooklyn. Cheer up. (And good luck!)

I saw Davenport in the Blaine Regional. Sorry Coach Gonzales, but Davenport has more, much more, than 4 or 5 guys who can score tries. All of their backline players have speed, pace and great ball handling skills. Their 6, 7 and 8 run with the ball as if they have 12 or 13 on their back. No, I am not associated with Davenport in any way, but just a rugby fan who saw them in action.
