I find it amusing that anyone can say that Westerville is dirty. What about a club that had a player red carded in the final for stomping on a players chest in '10. Or another club that was supposed to be banned from the Midwest competition for their coaches, players and parents actions during a championship game in '06. In all my years as a player and a coach I can't think of a single time either of those things have happened to Westerville. Yes there are times that we have been penalized for aggressive play at the break down. Just keepin it real,

Peters. Go worry about you national tournament. This started as discussing situations for the MidWest tournament and you have done a fabulous job in trying to make Westerville look like whiners and complainers when all that we do is play rugby. All that it is, is concern for the MidWest bracket. Trust me when i say that. Good Luck in Nationals to all of Cathedral. Looking forward to a Cathedral/Westerville meeting next year.

hey enough bitching and complaining from both sides. do you think its good for rugby that we are blaming this and that for the reasons we lost. the worms are great and so is cathedral. the worms went out this season to revenge last year. they should have won the mid west they are the better team. but lifes not perfect. when faced with adversity people need to step up. Cathedral won and their going to nationals. thats life remember the feeling and come out and go hard and remeber this year and put it into your play. life isnt fair if the best team always won then why would we compete. Grand Rapids came out and fought. its not their fault the ref screwed the worms. but life goes on. win states worms it come back with REVENGE.

That has already been stated, SP. Trust me when I say it wasn't just one bad call. I believe the game films/photographs have been submitted already for official review.

Probably a childish comment and unnecessary, but I get tired of hearing all of the excuses. The ref, the rules, the apology. That Westerville vs Grand Rapids game should not have been close enough for referees to determine the outcome.

The Worms are very aware of the conditions last year - and they were happy to step up to the plate at Nationals. They played some great games there too placing 5th in the Nation against teams that you might say are too worried about bench pressing. Cathedral played well at MW and clearly deserved to win every game they played - no question there. Who was the Ref when Cathedral played Grand Rapids? What if there was a game-changing bad call and the Head Ref apologized to Cathedral for it, but the results stood. All that is being conveyed here is that there was an injustice, the rules are not consistent and win or lose, the Worms would have been happy to play Cathedral and I think even Cathedral players know it would have been a more meaningful game. Good luck at Nationals Cathedral!

I stand corrected regarding the school sponsorship SP, however, some of the Cathedral parents at MW last year talked as if it was sponsored through the schools - might want to clarify that information with them. I do not understand your comment about all the "dogging" of Cathedral here - most of the "dogging" has been against the worms. Maybe I missed something but I don't recall reading anyone "name calling" or saying the that Cathedral was more concerted about anything than they are rugby. You, on the other hand, state that the Worms are more concerned with tattoos, squatting 500lbs and hair dye - WOW - seems like a very childish comment. Glad you know some former worm. I am sure they would tell you that these boys are a band of brothers - united on and off the field and that the Excellent Coaches the Worms have taught them true Rugby - not about hair dying and tattoos.

The comments about the rugby and the way Westerville carry themselves were strictly observations from last weekend. Also, I admitted that rules were poor. I understand that they are inconsistent with all other territories. I understand that you had a big injury and that 4 of your regulars were ineligible. I did read the article about your match with Xavier. Sounds like you played great out there. I'm not trolling. I know what good rugby is, and expected to see it from you guys last weekend. I did not. Westerville does have good history of winning. I am not disputing that. I am actually friends with multiple former Westerville players. I just see all these posts on here dogging Cathedral when all they did was go out and play. They didn't write the rules. History in the MW has been different recently, and either the rule has to change or you have to prepare differently. Thats all.

Also SP maybe if you would have seen our TRUE A side, the one that played together prepairing for national, under the rules for nationals and the rest of the country you would see true rugby. Instead you got to see a team that played together for a week, with a captain out from injuries and 4 other players sidelined. Read the post about the xavier ny game by there coach about the a side. Frankly sounds like your just trolling here, because the facts are the worms have won more titles then any other team out of the midwest. Ow and that wasnt for benching or tatoos, that was for rugby. And if there the best then put it on the field, Have worms will travel.

Yep, was a calculated risk, we prepare for nationals every year. Thats the goal of this team to play the best teams in the country. I dont see how that has any bearing on the post though. Why would they have to take a risk. I challenge you to bring one other thing that uses different rules to qualify for then the main event. And yes Cathedral won last year, under those same rules but was a fair contest and beat us. Wouldnt even have this post going if same thing happened again this year, But it didnt.
