The ACRL should add the likes of ECU to their league. I understand that they are trying to keep to "ACC" schools, but seriously, it will be impossible for Conference USA schools (like ECU) to field a rugby league as they are spread out over the country. There should be exceptions or waivers for programs that want to play higher rugby but their school's AC is far flung, like the Sun Belt, Conf USA, etc..

App St is the victim of a history in which they developed a pretty poor reputation. It sometimes takes a long time to break free from that. There is no question they have some extremely talented rugby players and even without any real adult leadership they have turned themselves into a pretty well-run rugby team. Their on-field discipline is still an issue and they should get rid of the "AHO" moniker in my opinion, but for a student led and coached team, they are doing a darn good job lately.

We're looking forward to renewing the rivalry with South Carolina this fall. We are planning a charity benefit around the game so should be a good day all around. Good luck to both teams in Charlotte today and into the round of 16. Represent the ACRL well!

That's all well and good. Just as long as we're all aware that it's not a caliber of play issue. State has alway had stand up guys, and they deserve credit for scheduling games with AHO. Regardless of conference, there is too much talent in NC to be wasting opportunities for local competition. Same goes for ECU and UNCW.
