The Rugby Indiana Youth League is a very well organized development league feeding players into the Indiana HS squads. Although the Royal Irish are the only combined club team, the two schools - Cathedral and Chatard - have a much smaller combined boys enrollment (only about 1000 in four grades) than our competitors Penn, Brownsburg, Carmel, and Southeastern. I understand that most other club teams around the US draw from four or more large Public Schools.

Please give credit where credit is due. The writer'a bias toward United is too obvious. The win was earned, the report should be glowing toward the winner... Indiana will be back in spades (BTW, did you notice another Indiana team in the single school final?) These are not flukes; our D1 HS league is very competitive and both Penn and Cathedral will be facing tough opponents in the semifinals to even get into the finals! (we have all schools compete, whether single schools or not and Cathedral is the only multiples school competitor). Looking forward to 2013 and beyond!

I am a Cathedral Dad and was at the game. We are very proud of our boys and enjoyed the beautiful sunny Saturday at Rio Tinto. The Colorado Game on Friday was the closest to a perfect game I have seen Cathedral-Chatard play. Congrats to our coaches who have been great teachers of the game, been excellent role models, and have instilled confidence and class in our boys. Be warned, this is not a flash in the pan, the Royal Irish are here to stay and will be loaded again next year. Indiana has an excellent youth Rugby feeder system. Many of the kid's from this year's team came up learning the game from current Ball State coach Eddie Abel in the Broad Ripple Rugby club (who won the 5th/6th, and 7th/8th championships this year). I cant compliment Eddie's impact on my kids enough to do justice to the positive impact he has had on my three sons.
