Does this website publish final rankings? I will be curious to see how they rank teams like Greenwich and Herriman, both victims of the of some biased committee that decides who the best teams in the country are without seeing them actually play. I wonder if the same committee presides over the rankings. Probably. At least I will get a short, bitter laugh out of whatever rationale is offered for some meaningless ranking. I wonder if the committee is running around, slapping each other on the back, congratulating themselves on a "well run" tournament. Picayune BS.

@ Pepin : Jesuit was the initial team invited to Nationals. Jesuit declined the invitation because of an issue with the school and suggested the invitation to go Dixon. So in reality Jesuit did get selected. Also Dixon played in the single-school league even though they had players from both Davis High and Dixon High. Congrats on the National Championship, but Jesuit is still the NorCal champ. the article is incorrect.

Dixon downed Jesuit in regular season on Jesuit's home field, 38-28. The last 2 tries coming for Jesuit after Dixon pulled out all their starters and put in their silver and younger players. Jesuit beat Dixon by one point at the Nor Cal State Finals. Dixon suffered technically with 3 missed try conversions and one missed penalty kick for points. Dixon had more tries than Jesuit in that game. Several columnists and those responsible for Rankings still maintain the Ranking of Dixon over Jesuit. It could be argued that CA should have a couple of schools in the Nationals. Maybe Jesuit and Dixon both deserve to be there. But don't take away from a team just because you did not get selected.

Congratulations to NIT Champs Dixon!! You guys worked hard and earned the sucess. Congrats to a great job by all NorCall teams, from Fresno to Marin and from Sacramento to San Jose, for an outstanding competitive season. Giant kudos to Rob Salaber, Dixon Coach as well as NorCal Youth director, for continuing to raise the standards and bar for everyone in NorCal rugby. Your efforts, passion for the game, and attention to detail are impressive.

Simply making a factual correction, I would mot want to detract in the slightest from Dixon's win. Congratulations and well done Dixon, we are proud and happy for you!

Congrats to both teams. Dixon maybe wasn't the top team from NorCal, but wasn't the top team out of the Midwest either.

C'mon Denise. Be a tad more gracious after Dixon's first-ever NIT appearance when they win it all! Jesuit were not able to represent NorCal this year in Utah, so good job Dixon!! And well done Jesuit outplaying Belmont Shore for the 2012 Calif single school bragging rights!

Great job to Dixon on the national championship! You guys represented our Northern California league well. To those of you saying Dixon isn't the NorCal champions, you are correct. But I would consider Dixon the best team in Northern California considering they beat Jesuit 38-28 earlier in the season and lost to them 24-23 in the NorCal championships. None-the-less, this proves the strength of NorCal rugby as they bring home the national championship yet again.

Correction: Dixon is NOT the northern California champions. Dixon lost to Jesuit High School of Sacramento in the Northern California Championship game. Jesuit went on to beat the Mustang club of San Diego the following week and yesterday beat the Southern California Single School Champions, Wilson High school for the California State title.
