(Part 2) It would have been great to see Herriman and Lamorinda there. Also, a little inter-regional rivalry is not a bad thing as it makes things more interesting, especially in Rugby. We have a few rivalries going in Indiana and the Midwest and the boys get very excited for those games. If the rivalry is limited to (non-vulgar) trash talking fans and more determined play out of the team and not expressed in cheap shots on the field nor personal attacks all the better. I didnt mean any personal attack.

(Part 1) If a HR parent was exagerrating then they were being reckles. The rules in place last year well understood and everyone seems to have played within them. We got beat 44-0 by a better team playing by the rules (number 13 or 15 had the quickest first step ever) and the experience of playing them was positive. I am just saying that the new rules are of better benefit to the development of the gane amongst American kids and maybe next year (after a play-in rather than an invitational) only one Utah team should be in the tourny (one each division) because now the rules favor American player development that has been happening in the Midwest at least every bit as well as the West, as evidenced by this year's results. During the finals broadcast Mr Goff commented favorably on the rule change for the same reasons.

Cathedral coach here. First off, I want to say that the individual parent's feelings (and tone in particular) are not representative of any of our staff, players or the supporters in general. Secondly, the 44-0 beating that we took, and was mentioned by a commenter, was probably the best thing that could have happened to our players. It was a real eye opener for them, but they took it as a challenge, and i think they responded. Unfortunately the tournament setup may not have allowed us to play a national play in tournament like in years past, but I would take us over anybody this season!(selfish moment) Anyway, we all enjoyed the trip out there and the local parents and coaches I spoke with were nothing but great to me and our supporters.

Let me clarify, the very few players you are speaking of were here MORE than 2 months before. They played the season. I don't want my comments to allude to something they weren't meant to.

i think you got punked man. we had a mom of two of our players last year who would make up stuff to gullible parents of opposing teams who had "heard things" about Highland. she used to also tell people that Highland had all blacks training squad 25 year old players on our team and theyd believe it

You're going to choose to believe what you want, so it's no use telling you the truth, as I can see that some have attempted. As a former HR player who continued my involvement after I played, I can't even begin to tell you what an incredible experience it was for myself and my family. You'll never know or understand that. You should be proud of your program, and we'll be proud of our program and its legacy. You should, however, fact check your claims. A parent doesnt necessarily strike me as a credible source. Move on.

I hope your team is not comfortable with you representing them, because you're making Cathedral look like real sore-winners. I hope your team does well in the next couple of years, because once you do (and this wish is just for you), you will experience the tear downs, insults, and lies slung at you as you are doing to Highland (and other Utah teams) right now. Maybe you should consult USA Rugby and the Highland coach (references that would have the actual truth) before you believe what you hear. Find out the truth, the actual truth, before you start hurling insults. I can also tell you that your accusations from this supposed Highland parent are wrong. You sound like a sore loser, and now a sore winner.

Your information is incorrect, regardless of where you got it.I know because MY DAD was the coach. All the players spoke English and WERE there 2 months before. This information is from ACTUAL DOCUMENTATION,n ot a misinformed parent.TRYBE is NOT HR or formerly HR.This is just getting ridiculous.I asked you to please be respectful.Clearly you are incapable of that.Your comment on letting 51-0 sink in-Highland beat Cathedral 44-0 in the semi finals last year.No one came on and rubbed that in your face the way you have done here to the Utah rugby community. You can have all the excuses you want as to why Cathedral was beaten, but HR complied with USA Rugby rules and had a majority USA born team,so it's a pretty open and shut case.As for the rule change,USA Rugby changed these same rules(minus the invitational)in 1997,and changed them again a few years later.Rule changing isn't anything new. Please find better ways to bide your time then tearing down other people.Leave HR alone.
