how old is tuilevuka? are his legs quick enough for international rugby anymore? i'd take his brother over him just because of the age and speed. the backs don't look too bad, but the forwards will have their behinds handed to them. their opposition is tough! BYU's 7 should be put at hooker, davie will be better with experience but the prop isn't cut out for international rugby. if your defence or scrummaging is O.K in college, it won't be enough against Canada or especially against the huge italian and georgian packs. sorry.

[quote name="Bill Jackson"]Andrew Cook at international level, he weighs 200lbs and isnt fast, what the heck is this about? quote] Size and speed, without a doubt, are advantageous. Cook may not be the biggest or the fastest, but he’s not tiny and by no means is he slow. This year, I watched Cook beat an All-American 7s standout in a 90 meter foot race to the opposition’s goal to ground a kicked ball. Cook’s chase began nearly 40 meters from the sideline where the opposition was making his run. Many players would have conceded the try. See 0:46: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yq1XezijWQ0 Cook is well-rounded – intelligent, skilled, unselfish. However, his greatest asset and his largest contribution to the game of rugby is his heart. No matter the challenge, he’s going to give it his all. For these traits he was likely chosen. Best of luck to him and all the collegiate players!

I also think Pati's future might be in 7s. As for Roundy, I noticed that he is back a lot to receive kicks/sweep, play in space, etc. Still, when he is in close contact on defense, he is pretty good. I looked it up, he was an All-State linebacker in High School (also played running back from what I remember), so I think he should be fine defensively

Likewise, I haven't seen enough of Roundy to say what he can an cannot do. Perhaps the comments and articles I've read give him too little credit. Goff wrote "he isn’t asked to play a lot of defense when suiting up for the Cougars, he can do it when needed" which to me says he isn't making much of an impact on that side of the ball. My implication was that based on the other selections the Eagles have plenty of guys focused on attack and perhaps Tolkin thought he needed a defensive-minded player at loose forward.

I have not seen much of LaValla so I would not feel good about evaluating him although I have heard awesome things about him, but I have seen enough of Roundy to know that he could contribute somewhere. I saw him lay some vicious hits on Saturday at the finals, he is much more than a try scorer IMO. If he is a bit short to jump, maybe a move to hook?

I don't intend to criticize Su'a or Roundy, obviously they are great players for a great team. But maybe Coach Tolkin is looking for a different skill set. Forrester will get around the pitch better than Su'a, that is established. And Roundy is known for his ball running, but is he going to bring more in that area than Big Lou Stanfill or Scott Lavalla? Probably not, but Leaaetoa could bring something new to the openside flanker position. Clever is good but he isn't an openside flanker.

Cannot believe Roundy is not on here. Captain for BYU since his sophomore year, which speaks volumes in a program that good. Tough as nails and his athleticism is underrated I think. I don't think any of the Utah guys mentioned are ready yet, except Pati

I watched Toby L'Estrange play in the centers for NYAC a couple weekends ago - he looked the goods, very sharp with ball in hand and strong in defense. Wouldn't be surprised to see him have a run this summer for the eagles.
