If we are throwing out names for the 7s coach. We need to consider Nelo Lui & Tui Osbourne from the Riverside 7's back to back national championships. These guys have grown up playing 7s and understand the nuances of the game. Tui is coaching at Life and Nelo is coaching at UNR. Either would make a great Eagles 7's Head Coach.

So happy to see a fellow Dartmouth Man at the reins. I never played with or for Magleby, but every single alum that I know who has believes in him as a coach. I am excited to see what he does with the rest of this season!

Apparently reading comprehension is not your strongest suit. I simply implied that we need to take a hard look at funding for the Eagles 7s program and that we should expect no major changes in the current narrative specifically because it will cost money to take the Eagles to the next level, CONSISTENTLY. Is it "impossible at this stage"? Bet the forces behind USA being an IRB 7s stop heard a lot of that. I also bet they did not sit and wait for USA Rugby to lead the initiative on Cipp Dues. As it is, the Olympic rings should be one hell of a carrot for sponsorship.

Mags, congratulations on the appointment. It will be a challenge but knowing you, you are absolutely up to it. I am not sure why you other loudmouths don't take your anonymous, misplaced argument to a more appropriate venue. This is not about your petty squabbles on Ohio rugby. Its about a good move for US sevens and its new coach, who deserves all the support we can offer

How do you propose that these "2 (TWO)" eagles pool sides be funded? Do you have a line on a sponsorship or should we up our CIPP dues to fund them? If the latter is the case, what good does it do for me? Don't make silly comments that are impossible at this stage.

@westcoachcoast Paul Holmes turned a group of college kids into a pretty successful 7s team within a couple of months, using guys that traveled from cleveland to columbus or cincinnati to columbus on a bi-weekly basis. he could do a lot more if he had all of his resources at his fingertips. and as far as scioto valley goes, the job is for a 7s position, and his focus is clearly on 7s. I do think there are a few qualified coaches, but everyone seems to tear him down. good luck Mags!

Holmes is best thing that has happened to club in recent years. I hate sevens however he is a great coach and the guys love him. Also if you look at results, everything has got better here and it will continue to do so. Go to corner of broad and high , west coast coach

Scioto was done on there own,The Columbus Rugby Club exists now and 1823. Paul has coached the sevens for 2 years. We go everywhere and play a lot. He coaches us and develops us, no stars or outside help. He helped Miami be as strong as we are. Get your facts right.
