AIC was fun to watch. Great athletes for sure - would like to see them more technically disclipined and running 7s patterns. Providence was nothing special, hate to say it. Good on them for good competition but they didn't challenge any of the serious teams. In my mind, Iona, Stony Brook and Binghmanton played real 7's and show cased talented programs, AIC showed what they can be and NAVY showed elite athleticism, fitness and commitment to 7s. Great tournament all around and with Iona, SBU and Binghmanton the Empire Conference is an up and comer. Would of loved to see Stony Brook v. Iona in 7s. Word on the street is Stony Brook is heading to Texas. Congrats.

Interesting you mention BU and AIC in comparison to PC. BU thrashed them twice this year in back to back games, and while AIC did lose to them last spring, they stomped PC this season and certainly showed their talent at the tournament with a 3-1 record (I heard they hadn't even practiced 7s, and that a few of their guys new the game from playing with other clubs?). That being said, Coach Cox is a good coach and it showed on the pitch, but they shouldn't have been at that tournament. They definitely should have started with something a little easier.

Providence College shouldn't be counted out either. Granted I am not affiliated with the college, but I do remember them beating AIC last year, and being a very strong team. Granted this year they are very young, but AIC and Bentley beat them in the second half not the first. I think they will give a good performance at 7s with the young talent they have. Michael Cox is a good coach, and they are definitely the under dogs in the competition, but I think they will definitely turn heads with this being their 1st 7s tournament.
