It is disgraceful that US Rugby fans are missing the world cup. What NBC is doing is just silly - it's the typical NBC attitude we see in the olympics every 4 years - show only the US games, kill us with overly long pre-game studio discussion, turn a rugby game halftime into 30 minutes of more meaningless studio discussion, and in the meantime the great pool games that make the World Cup what it is - like today's Ireland/Australia match - are totally ignored. Those of you looking forward to 7s coverage in the Olympics? Brace yourself for more of the same.

The Scott Base is operated by NZ, and located in NZ's claimed area of Antarctica. Thus, it seems natural that they might try to extend coverage there. U.S. coverage is an entirely separate issue, and it strikes me as inappropriate to use this space to complain about it.

Too bad the RWC wasn't in the spring as the NFL season starts this weekend. It seems like there is a football game on every night which will take away any kind of exposure that rugby will get. I am glad that a major network is carrying at least some games. Some is better than none I guess...

Agree with the previous poster. Rugby world cup org does not get it. Promoting rugby in the us is a Win-Win for rugby everywhere. I can't believe there isn't a cable co that would broadcast them live for a reasonable fee. Go Figure.

Great for Antartica but what about the rugby fans in the USA? We get a limited selection of games on Universal Sports, none in high definition, and a very few on NBC. If we want the other games, $35 a time for high def on Direct TV. How do we expect the sport to grow here when the coverage is so poor. TSN is Canada is showing every game in high definition.
