Sycophants? says:

Calling the people around Serevi sycophants is pretty uninformed. Serevi is heavily involved in coaching in Seattle, running youth programs like rugby camps (highly inexpensive by the way), helping college programs, etc. Every talented person building a business needs people to help out. Seems like a huge fee? How much do you figure 7 nights in a hotel/dorm plus food and beverage for an athletic training event might cost? Plus probably some camp kit (typical for these events, and other similar). What about GT's expenses coming over from NZ? Not trying to pick a fight but I'd imagine this is not a cash cow for Serevi like you seem to suspect. He's here, he's doing something good to help our young talent get better and maybe be able to compete against big fish nations.

This is all great but I'd like to know if the guys mentioned have paid the money asked and how many have overall. Seems a huge fee even if the coaching involved from GT will be superb. Serevi is entitled to make a living from what he accomplished over the years for sure. But it would appear the people that are surrounding him right now are nothing but sycophants. If he has the best interests of rugby in America at heart then great but he does give off the air of being just another carpetbagger right now!

Serevi needs to be given the keys to the USA 7s kingdom, after all he is The King. I think his business will do well. With the connections he has, the possibilities are endless (Sorry LeBron, there can be only one and you sir are not it!)
