In reference to adding more teams to the RSL, you have to look to Texas. The Frisco Griffins have a very solid setup going and if they can keep building they will be one of the better clubs in the US. They were already to grab USA winger Justin Boyd last season. The other club you are going to want to look at, and this is their first season, will be The Woodlands Exiles. There founder is a former Life Super League player. Their 7's programs should have some promise as they have 4 Canadian 7's internationals and 3 former NFL players in the fold. They could possibly be a team to look at in 4-5 years.

the history of the NFL has many competitors come and go...and it was percieved as 2nd class football to the university level until the mid 1950's... rugby could - by the hand of the freemarket - easily follow that history... I say if cali wants its own competition...go for it...invite whomever...and USARFU stay out of the way...

I'm skeptical. I've heard talk about the best clubs from So Cal (and Nor Cal) joining forces...maybe not even competing in USA competitions. But the money and inconvenience seem a bit much to me, especially when you start throwing in the likes of Glendale (and if you do that, why not Provo too?) But hey, prove me wrong. If they can make it work, then more power to them. It would be cool to see it happen.

I disagree, you need to have different clubs in the same city competing against each other. There are plenty of rugby players in Denver to have 2 RSL the thing is the barbos know that if Glendale is in the RSL they will instantly become the team to play for in Denver because of the facilities...Glendale are doing a great job of installing a club atmosfere with rookie rugby all the way to D1.

Glen d 1 I know what was said, got calls on both ends. Congrats on winning. You best know direction of your club. There are few secrets in rugby, I never assumed you'd want in. Good luck, I am pretty well versed on alternative leagues being discussed, so I know you have options.

it will take years (5 or more?) for rivals to consider playing or training together.... we are following the northern hemisphere model of rugby - making all star rugby difficult... city based teams difficult.. imagine the "team" the denver area could have in super league with an all-star team...with all the great players U-19,university,cl ub and RSL which exist in that state...

I agree with Bruce. How in the world are we going to hide something when our guys get together maybe one or two weeks out of the year. We need to choose our team to win games and play hard every game regardless of the world cup. Real talk is that we do not have a World Cup Winning team yet we need to just go out with our best guys and our best game plan every single game test or not. that is how you practice a game plan is using it during games...

We offered to allow the Barbo's to use our facilities last year if they would vote for us. They thanked us for the offer but declined stating that they could not do it. Bruce we did everything possible to work with them and they refused everything. We beat their super league team twice last season and beat the Dallas Superleague team. There are several cities with 2 super league teams in them why not Denver? They have repeatedly taken players off us (8 at the last count) and we still beat them twice and won a Div 1 national Championship. Please do not make any assumptions about us wanting to join the Super league.
