Its like a sport to hate on melville but lets give the man credit where credit is do and stop acting like we havent made progress in the areas we keep tslking about. Youth rugby has exploded, largely because of his initiatives. Rookie rugby, rugby in a box kits, and the hiring of kurt weaver, a full timer who's job is to get rugby into the hand of school age players. A new college structure and an expanded parternership with usa7s llc? A ton of new coaching and admin resources for the sbros? A free director of rugby course that he himself is running? The guy who should really go is our absentee chairman, kevin roberts. Has he done anything????????

If there are good reasons why Dan Lyle should not be running the show in Boulder, I'd love to hear them. So far no one has issued a specific criticism beyond, "It would be bad." Maybe that's true, but c'mon...make an argument. @Nixon - A lot (all?) of Congress is elected by the TUs. Figure out how your TU elects them. Run yourself or find someone else to run who would be better. Or figure out a way to influence the election. Southern California has replaced two of its three reps in the past 13 months...one stepped down due to declining health (and he passed soon thereafter) and the other was voted out. I have a great deal of confidence in their replacements...to the extent that Congress actually influences anything.

Nigel has underperformed, agreed there. Should he go? Yes, probably, that's what happens when CEO's don't run successful organizations. We do NOT, I repeat DO NOT want Dan Lyle anywhere within 500 miles of the CEO job. You think we have issues with the IRB now, they'd get much much worse.

I actually said Club-Varsity status. Even if you stayed under club sports at least the status would be better than that of ultimate et al. or most schools like mine, varsity status is not going to happen, so we need to push for the next best thing.

I actually think Dan has great vision for Rugby. and being that he was a 15's man first, he'd be at the top of my list to replace Nigel, but I doubt he'd take the job. He's got a good thing going now, and with the Olympics 5 years away and will probably play a major role there. I like your idea "DanistheMan" to get schools to push for varsity status, but I dont think its realistic for that to happen with 15's. However I do see schools making Sevens a varsity sport, seeing as it's being included in the Olympics. Plus you could fund a men's and womens sevens program for the same price as 1 15's program. If I was running a college program that is the angle I would take to the schools. If you're one of the first colleges to turn varsity in sevens you will set yourself up for a very nice future of rugby talent and your 15's side will get better as well.
