California State University, Chico invites applications for the part-time position of Head Coach for the Men’s Rugby team. 

The coach will report to the SportClub Director.

Jim Watje PhotoThe successful candidate will participate in all aspects of maintaining a highly successful student-run, student-led Rugby club program. Responsibilities include attending weekly officer and team meetings and practice, attendance to fundraising events, and providing leadership and mentorship of student-athletes. 

The candidate must also have the ability to abide by all policies and procedures of the Chico State Sport Club Program, USA Rugby and the California State University.   

Candidates must be First Aid/CPR certified or can complete these certifications within one month of employment. This position is a University Foundation funded position and compensation will be $4000-$8000 annually.

Appointment begins immediately and terminates on May 31, 2013 with the possibility of renewal. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required.

The successful candidate will have experience with collegiate rugby; skill in training/instructing student-athletes; excellent interpersonal communication skills; demonstrated organizational and time management skills; and the ability to travel with the team.

Chico State, a public, residential, four-year institution of approximately 15,800 students, is located in Northern California about 90 miles north of Sacramento.
