BOULDER, Colo. – USA Rugby is thrilled to announce the details for the 2011 Sevens Coaching Course in Las Vegas. This remarkably valuable course will be held at the MGM Grand on February 10 and 11, 2011 in conjunction with the USA Sevens Tournament in Las Vegas. With the recent inclusion of rugby sevens in the 2011 Pan-American Games and the 2016 and 2020 Olympics, the demand for qualified coaches with sevens-specific knowledge is rapidly increasing and this is USA Rugby’s way of enriching a new generation of coaches with sevens-specific knowledge. The USA Men’s Sevens Team Head Coach, Al Caravelli will be attending the sevens course for a Q&A session and had this to say: “As the global game of rugby sevens continues to explode here in the US we are not keeping pace, but taking the lead with youth programs, high school rugby... What we need to make sure of is that we lead with coaching. The coaching course that will be held in Las Vegas is a ‘can’t miss’ opportunity if you want to further your coaching of rugby sevens.” In addition to an excellent course facilitated by licensed IRB trainers, course participants will be treated to a plethora of experiential learning opportunities. Attendees will have an on-site visit to a USA training session, a Q&A session with USA Men’s Sevens team Head Coach, Al Caravelli, and CEO and President of Rugby Operations at USA Rugby, Nigel Melville.
